Because of Winn-Dixie is a very touching book about Opal, a ten year old girl who happens to find a dog at a grocery store. Opal has had very hard times in her life. Her father is a preacher, so she and her dad have to move all the time. Sadly, when Opal was three, her mother left.
I recommend this book for ages 8+. It has sad times and extremely happy times. Opal meets so many kind and generous people along the way. This book has a tremendous amount of love and devotion in it. All the characters are so wonderful. I think every one should read this book.

So I have to say, KAte DiCamillo is my most favorite author in the whole wide world. I want to read the Tiger Rising but I havn’t gottan to it yet

My mom wants to read it. I’m like, READ IT NOW! she’s still reading other books. I want to go to the library and check it out. Hopefully she will finish it fast cause I want to read it for my 3rd time and then probably I’ll read it some like 20 more times!!!! thats how good the book is. Kate DiCamillo is my fav.All of her books r so touching and emotional
