By J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, is about a hobbit named Bilbo that is living peacefully in his home. Suddenly, a wizard named Gandalf and a band of homeless dwarves appear at Bilbo’s house. Bilbo is taken along on their quest to defeat the evil dragon Smaug and take back the treasures that he held in his fortress. Along the way Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves meet many dangers including evil orcs, savage wolves, huge spiders, and even worse dangers. Do you want to find out if Bilbo and the dwarves succeed on their journey? Read on!
J.R.R. Tolkien does a terrific job of describing every scene and battle to make you feel like you’re actually alongside Bilbo as he fights off orcs, not sitting in your room reading. The Hobbit is an amazing, action-packed book that you won’t want to put down until you have finished the last page. This is one of the best books that I have read and definitely worth the $6.99 it costs.
