The Penderwicks at Point Mouette

By Jeanne Birdsall

Genre: realistic fiction

The Penderwicks at Point Mouette is a great addition to Jeanne Birdsall’s series.  It all starts when the family gets torn apart for spring break.  Rosie (the eldest and the one who takes care of everyone) is going away to spend a weekend in New Jersey with her best friend.  Skye, the second eldest ,is left in charge of both her younger sisters while at Point Mouette on vacation.   Can Skye and the others stay alive until they get back home to meet with Rosie?

I like how Jeanne Birdsall fills you with emotion while you read her book.  Sometimes there are cant-put-down parts in this book and sometimes there are so-so parts in her book.
